Victoria Sonowo
Victoria Sonowo earned her Bachelor’s degree in legal studies with a concentration in Public Law from Ball State University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law. She is admitted to practice law in Illinois and is a member of the American Bar Association and the Chicago Bar Association.
While in law school, Ms. Sonowo was active in student organizations, serving as Secretary of the Intellectual Property Law Society and the Women’s Law Caucus, and as a member of the Black Law Student Association. She was a Dean’s Scholarship recipient, a 1L Moot Court Competition award winner, and a licensed student attorney in the Pro Bono Litigation Clinic.
Ms. Sonowo has experience in defense, representing employers and insurance carriers in matters arising under the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act, and now focuses her practice in the Chicago office on defending claims under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and its extension, the Defense Base Act.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends.
