Kelly J. Johnson
Ms. Johnson received her Bachelor of Arts from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1998 and her Juris Doctorate from Northern Illinois University in 2001. She has over sixteen years of extensive litigation experience in administrative bodies, trial courts, and state appellate courts. She has a strong history of defending employers and insurance companies in multi-state workers’ compensation and civil litigation matters. Her skill as a litigator has helped save her clients millions of dollars.
Her representation of employers and insurance companies is evidenced outside the courtroom as well. Ms. Johnson has provided numerous conferences to insurance companies and her peers in order to assist them in making the right decisions both before and after litigation begins. In addition, she has served on several bar association and private membership organization committees with the goal to further the position of the employer and insurance company and keep her clients informed of the latest developments in the law. She had also been asked to share her litigation experience by acting as a judge and providing guidance to law students in mock trial competitions.
Ms. Johnson joined Thomas Quinn in 2017. In an effort to continue to protect employer and insurance company interests, she is defending claims arising under Longshore & Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and its extensions, including the Defense Base Act.
